[comp.sys.transputer] Getting started cheaply

davis@ux3.lbl.gov (Jeffrey Davis) (02/18/90)

Hello,
I am interested in getting involved in the wonderful world
of transputing but not if it is too expensive (this is all going
to be out of my own pocket.)
What I am interested in is a less expensive means of getting
started. I have a 20MHz Mylex based 386 at home with a spare 32bit slot
(as well as several 16bit slots) which I would like to add a transputer
board to. I am aware of the Microway transputer boards but they are a
little out of my price range.
Has anyone out there either built their own or found a cheaper
source for such things. I have enough electronics experience that I
think I could put one together but not enough to design one myself.
					Thanks,
					Jeff Davis
