Looking for a screen-oriented editor for the SUN computer that is simpler to use than VI or EMACS or DMACS. Really bombproof. Preferably one that uses the mouse to reduce typing. Menu-oriented? I heard a rumor there is such a program with a name that sounds like "ELLIS." (LS? ELLES? LESS?) Thanks, Bill PARK@SRI-AI (415) 859-2233 (work) ------- -------

(LS? ELLES? LESS?) The product that you have heard about is "Alis", which is dubbed an "Integrated Office Automation System". It is from Applix, Inc. Our local Sun sales office carries a demo, though I haven't seen it. It is reported to be a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor which allows text and graphics to be merged together into a document. It requires a high resolution graphics printer (ie Apple Laser Writer) for an output device.
