[net.micro] Simple SUN editor?

PARK@SRI-AI.ARPA (Bill Park) (10/02/85)

Looking for a screen-oriented editor for the SUN computer that is
simpler to use than VI or EMACS or DMACS. Really bombproof.
Preferably one that uses the mouse to reduce typing. Menu-oriented?

I heard a rumor there is such a program with a name that sounds like
"ELLIS." (LS? ELLES? LESS?)

Thanks,

The product that you have heard about is "Alis", which is dubbed an "Integrated
Office Automation System". It is from Applix, Inc. Our local Sun sales
office carries a demo, though I haven't seen it. It is reported to be a
WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor which allows text and graphics
to be merged together into a document. It requires a high resolution graphics
printer (ie Apple Laser Writer) for an output device.

The address of Applix:
