The new version of the TDS (TDS3, D700E) is about to hit the streets. It now uses iserver, and the source in something called 'C', whatever that is, is included. More seriously, I would wait until you see TDS3 beore exp@ending any further effort - it should be much easier to add extra features like graphics support. The system was frozen for release around 6 weeks ago. There will be a new manual produced by Prentice-Hall. Apart from the move to the iserver, the new release is well worth having. The problem with the iserver is a 'lowest common denominator' implementation. The aspect that offends me most is that it does not initiate communication with the transputer. The transputer is forced to poll the server!! What a way to treat a transputer! I gather that the fee for an upgrade to TDS3 will be of the order of 100 ~ 150 pounds Sterling in the UK.
