[comp.sys.transputer] Interfacing Silicon Graphics workstations and transputers

Using transputers in association with Silicon Graphics workstations

I am investigating the possibility of attaching a Silicon Graphics workstation
to a Meiko Computing Surface (8 transputers).   Two options are available

(1) Put a transputer board into a Silicon Graphics workstation.  This has been
    done by Meiko.  Has anyone any information on this?  How much extra 
    software and hardware is needed?  How many transputers can be inserted
    into SG workstations?  

(2) Another option is to connect the Meiko Computing Surface to the SG
    workstation using a high speed link e.g UltraNet.  Has anyone information 
    on UltraNet or other high speed links which may be used?

I would also appreciate information on DL - Silicon Graphics graphics library.
