I recently volunteered to help my wife's school (she teaches sixth grade) in developing a program to do their parent/teacher conference scheduling for them. It would do things like ensure that parents who have more than one child attending the school would have all of thier conferences sheduled one after the other etc. I was wondering if there are any packages that other schools use that do something similar. No need to reinvent the wheel. If I can't find such a package I will be writting one so any generic scheduling algorithms would also be of interest to me.
