I have been using the 'tdb' command with a PAR file on our Meiko Computing Surface recently. Below is the example par processor 0 test -s 5 processor 1 test 5 endpar The programs are written in 'C' and use the CStools to communicate. I can only monitor one program at once by using tdb. The documantation suggests that it is possible to run one tdb per transputer, i.e. can monitor both of my programs communicating with each other on two tdb's. I can not seem to get this to work. Could anybody who has come across this please cast some light on it. Is it possible ? If so how ? Thanks Barry Evans

I think that it isn't currently possible to run multiple tdb's on the same job as they are all one unix job. This means that you can't get subsequent tdb's into it. Maybe you could fork a new tdb off of the old one (I don't know)... If you get an answer to this I sure would like to know, it's a real pain trying to debug a parallel program and only being able to see what's happening in one process. Sorry I can't answer your question (hmmph). P.S. I tried emailing you but my reply got bounced all over Reading and gave up... -- --Paul Mitchell (CMA N.Cheshire, DoD#0145) | Computer Centre, JANET: cca04@uk.ac.keele.seq1 | University of Keele, Keele, USENET: cca04@seq1.keele.ac.uk@nss.cs.ucl.ac.uk | Staffordshire, ST5 5BG, U.K. BITNET: cca04%seq1.keele.ac.uk@ukacrl | 0782 - 621111 ext 3302
