[comp.sys.transputer] RE Re SCSI devices.

Thanks for the reply, the question was primarily about hardware though. We have
a large (200 ish) array of processors working as an embedded data aquisition
and evaluation system. The array is hosted by a VAX via a Caplin QT0 interface.
The question is can we replace the Caplin board with a SCSI TRAM ? Ie runn the
network as a VAX device, for this to work it must be possible to boot the
network from the SCSI port, ie the SCSI TRAM must generate RESET (and
ANALYSE would be good) when a SCSI inittialise command is sent.

Has anyone used one of these beasties to reset a network? The advantages to
us would be a dramatic cost saving, a 3100 with a SCSI can be got for about
15000 - 20000 quid less than a machine with a Q-Bus in it. Also the new
p-VAX (the VERY fast one!) is unlikely to arrive as a Q-bus machine.

Unfortunately we can't use a UNIX host like a SUN because we need an O/S
capable of supporting a real-time online system.
