[comp.sys.transputer] Meiko cs_build avoidance

cca04@seq1.keele.ac.uk (P.J. Mitchell) (10/08/90)

Hello world,

I have an application that I'm running under Meiko CSTools but whose
process' are always connected in a pipeline and only need to communicate
with their immediate neighbours.

So I don't think that I need the clever through routing provided by CSTools
and would like to bypass it to enhance my communications throuput (higher
transmission rate and lower communications start-up time). This should be
possible as "mrun" wires up the processors for you independantly of the
program(s) being run.

Is there any way that I can do this without recourse to cs_build ? I ask
because a) I don't want to learn another arcane parallel job harness, and
b) I would like to involve fortran and this would be doubly difficult at
the cs_build stage (I think).

Any ideas ? Thanks.
