We have been running the Loughborough occam compiler+simulator successfully for several years, first on a Vax/Eunice platform, then on Sun-3's under SunOS 3.5. The installation and subsequent port to the Sun were both easy. We have converted to SunOS 4.1 and are having the darndest time getting the thing running again. The occam compiler produces C, which is then duly translated and linked; the execitable then crashes, usually on a segmentation fault. We have tried rebuilding the system from sources, but the problem persists. Neither the occam debugger nor dbx gives any useful information about what is wrong. Is anyone successsfully running this system under SunOS 4.1? Or does anyone have a clue about what we should try next? Please respond by e-mail; no need to post to the newsgroup.
