Dear Net, We are using PC-NFS to access large remote disk systems (NeXT, Silicon Graphics) from our PCs (286, 386, DOS3.30, DOS 4.01). We are also using TDS3 to access (read/write) files and filed folds to those network disks. Up to now we were quite happy with that solution. Suddenly (I don't know why and what I might have inadvertently changed) TDS has problems: when creating a (filed) fold (possibly with other filed sub folds) from within a program that filed fold stays EMPTY (length of 0 Bytes) as soon as it comes to reside on one of the PC-NFS network disks (interestingly enough the filed sub folds [which now can not be accessed from the TDS directly any more] have their correct contents). It all works fine on the local PC harddisk. It is also no problem to create, copy, etc. filed folds on those network disks IF USING THE TDS FOLDING EDITOR. Anybody else using PC-NFS and TDS? Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Helmut (W9/DH0MAD) _________________________________________________ heller@lisboa.ks.uiuc.edu "Knowledge must be gathered and cannot be given" u27013@ncsagate.bitnet ZEN, one of BLAKES7 Phone: (217)244-1586 ------------------------------------------------- Helmut Heller, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Beckman Institute Theoretical Biophysics Group, Transputer Lab, Room 3151 405 N.
