I just got the info from Computer System Architects on their educational transputer systems. They offer a 3/4 board for an IBM PC that has a single transputer on it. You can get several boards and cable them together. The basic board is US$236 for which you get: a T400 at 20 MHz, a C compiler, and an Occam compiler. At the entry level price, the compilers only support the T400. My questions: 1) Does the T400 come only in 20MHz? If not, who has faster ones? 2) The prices for other versions seemed expensive: T425 is an additional $150 + $50 for 25MHz T800 is an additional $300 + $75 for 25MHz Is there somewhere that sells just the raw chip? 3) The CSA pricing seems good since you get the compilers, are they high for the basic board and transputers? Any help would be appreciated. -- Jay Nelson (TRW) jay@wilbur.coyote.trw.com
