ENCLOSED IS A CONDENSED CALL FOR PAPERS FOR TA91

\section*{{\sf Transputer Applications 91}}

The third International Conference and Exhibition on
Transputer Applications (TA91) will be held in Glasgow, UK,
August 28th-30th 1991.

The Conference and the Exhibition
are hosted and organised by the Scottish Transputer Centre,
at the University of Strathclyde, on behalf of the principal
sponsors, the SERC/DTI
Engineering Applications of Transputers Initiative.
Co-sponsorship comes from
the British Computer Society, EURASIP, the UK Institution
of Electrical Engineers (IEE), EUREL,
the US Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the UK Institute of Physics.
As in the previous two years the Exhibition is co-sponsored by
the parallel processing magazine {\em Parallelogram.}

Previous Conferences and Exhibitions have been very successful and
are now recognised as being the major annual International
Transputer Applications event.
The first Exhibition, in 1989 in Liverpool, UK, attracted over
800 attendees (350 delegates and 550 day visitors)
with 50\% of the total coming
from industry. The second in 1990 in Southampton attracted visitors
from 34 countries and 41 exhibitors, some from as far away as
Singapore displayed products at the Exhibition.

The conference programme will include keynote presentations from many
of the world's leading experts and will cover a broad
range of application areas such as:

Real time control

Industrial and commercial applications

Image processing and pattern analysis

Software tools

Programming environments

Signal processing

Image processing

Computational Fluid dynamics

Molecular modelling

Applications in communications

Seismic data processing

Medical imaging

The conference will be held in the
Moat House International Hotel
which offers some of the best facilities in the country for such events
The hotel lies close to the city centre alongside the
Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre with convenient access to the M8
motorway.
Glasgow airport (20 minutes)
caters for both international and domestic flights (hourly shuttle
service to London) whilst
there are through trains to most principal cities in the UK
(London 5 hours). Road access to Glasgow is excellent.

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

work which can be described as a transputer application. Please
send 3 copies of an extended abstract for consideration by referees
2 copies of a short abstract should also be submitted. For papers
with multiple authors, the presenter should be identified. Full
mailing addresses, telephone and FAX nos of the author to be

Glasgow

Glasgow is Scotland's largest city, and is now widely recognised as
the commercial, cultural and tourist centre of the country.
Glasgow is a thriving industrial city, with a very strong base
in electronics and other modern technologies making it the captial
of Scotland's Silicon Glen.

The city's exudes confidence and success and was
designated the 1990 European Cultural Capital of Europe in recognition
of its achievements. Glasgow's remarkable environmental and cultural
ambience is due in part
to the policy of conserving the aesthetic
Victorian architecture and raising the standards of new architecture,
creating a city that is a blend of both modern and traditional styles.

Glasgow is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe.
Loch Lomond is a half hours drive, and the Scottish Highlands can be
easily reached within an hour.
The city itself boasts more than 70 public parks and has many
museums and galleries, including the famous Burrell Collection,
shopping facilites, sport and
recreation facilities, and is the
home to Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet, the Scottish National
Orchestra, and two of Europes most famous football teams, Rangers
and Celtic.
