Transputing '91, Sunnyvale CA, April 22nd-26th 1991
On Monday 22nd and Friday 26th, a programme of workshops and tutorials is to
be presented in association with the Transputing '91 conference at the
Sunnyvale Hilton Inn. This is to announce the full-day session on
Scientific Applications of Transputers
on Friday April 26th
from 0830 to 1800
Topics include: Seismic Visualisation, finite-element methods, molecular
biology, neural networks, cartographic applications, and oil industry
science.
Speakers represent Shell UK, Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Pasadena), Edinburgh
Parallel Computing Centre (Scotland), University of Osnabrueck (Germany),
University of Leuven (Belgium) and University of Illinois.
Fee: $150.

0830 - 0840: Welcome and introduction.
0840 - 1000: Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre on Seismic Visualisation
and a survey of other applications and results from our
Transputer-based system.
1000 - 1015: Coffee break.
1015 - 1130: Klaus Zeppenfeld (University of Osnabrueck, Germany) on
finite-element methods.
1130 - 1245: Helmut Heller et al (University of Illinois)
on parallel computing in molecular biology.
1245 - 1345: lunch.
1345 - 1500: Tom Tollenaere (University of Leuven, Belgium) on neural
network methods and research using Transputers.
1500 - 1600: Niles Ritter (JPL) on cartographic applications of Transputers.
1600 - 1615: Coffee.
1615 - 1715: Neil Carmichael (Shell UK) on Transputers in oil industry science.
1715 - 1800: Panel question session, and close.
