[net.micro] Callan Data Systems bankruptcy auction and future support

s268@sol1.UUCP (s268) (10/16/85)

Anyone owning Callan Data Systems equipment should be interested in this.
My company was formerly a reseller of Callan equipment, and we are now
dealing in AT&T computers.

Since Callan filed for liquidation in September, and my company still
supports a number of customers having Callan computers, we will be attending
the liquidation auction to purchase spare parts. We would like to offer
support to other Callan owners around the country as well as our current
customers.

We are offering to support "orphaned" Callan owners with three options:

We can trade-in your Callan equipment for new AT&T equipment.

We can purchase spare parts for you at the liquidation auction.

We can offer a maintenance agreement for whatever period you expect
to use your Callan equipment. We will inventory spare parts from
purchasing trade-ins and from the liquidation auction.

You are welcome to call and discuss your needs. The auction is coming soon,
in the next few weeks sometime, so don't delay.

A friend of mine would like to sell me two Unistar 200 from this defunct
Callan outfit. One with 1M works. One with 2M needs work on the HD and
FD controllers. He's willing to sell both, but not separately, for $3500.
Can someone with experience with these machines advise me on what to look
out for with these machines? Specifically, is anyone (Richard Kinch??)
still supporting the OS with new releases? How about with support for things
like an Ethernet board? Please call me at 408-738-2888x6626
or reply to this address. Replies much appreciated.
