Is there a WP or Wordstar like word processor on the unix ?

If yes, please let me know.

If not, how can anyone tolerate VI?

This is not talk.politics.misc, talk.origins or talk.abortion.

There is no need to post inflammatory remarks. VI and Emacs are two
common alternatives for text editing in Unix. Each has its advantages and I
don't need to list them all. Emacs is very powerful and has a windowing
facility to allow multiple files to be edited. VI is much more friendly
to a touch typist than Emacs because it is rarely necessary to leave the
letter keys except for escape. With a good keyboard and a person familiar
with most of the features of Vi, one can be very productive.

Keep the flames to talk.abortion and we'll all be happier.

Lack of choice. It's a lot better than "ed", or "cat".

Here is an anecdote for y'all. I know someone who is one of two
users on a Sun 4. His editor of choice is ed, even though vi and
emacs are available. It does what he wants, as fast as he wants.
To each his own, I always say.

L.S.

At present we are looking in the capabilities of HyperText
programs for low end distributions. In the scope of this
research we want to develop a simple editor for indicating
the hypertext-words and the related links. This editor should be used
by the experts on regulations, and not computer experts.
In addition we want to develop a generator/converter, which
translates the edited text in the format of an hypertext
program like KnowledgePro.

Now we are looking for an existing editor for which we want
to change the source code. Any ideas ???

Regards,
Hin Oey
