I have it working. I foolishly was typing the command in edit mode, not visual or command mode. The "}" never appears on your screen when you do this correctly. Sorry to clutter the group with this triviality, but I was just about beserk. Many thanks to everyone who took the time to respond--I'll be responding to you personally as soon as I have a few moments. There were many interesting solutions to the "fill paragraph" problem, the simplist, of course, was the "!}fmt". It was fun to see how different people solved the same problem. --Ken Zuroski
