My senior project is writing a new screen editor which will be function-key driven (for keyboards with these). The function keys may be user-defined with any sequence of editor commands. I plan to have a command base at least as capable as vi, and likely much more capable. If anyone has any comments on this, such as why or why not another editor is needed, what capabilities are lacking in current editors, etc, please E-mail me or post if you think the discussion is worth it. I will summarize any E-mail responses I get. Thanks for the input.
