[comp.editors] Looking for STEVIE sources

pdwalker@bcarh471.bnr.ca (10/13/90)

Need I say more? Stevie is perhaps the best publicly available vi
clone around. Some one know where I can fto it from?

Thanks in advance.

Paul

The latest version of the best stevie variant (jstevie from Japan)
is available via anonymous ftp from ural.ethz.ch (129.132.40.10) under
software/src/jst.tar.Z

You're welcome in retrospect.

Actually, stevie has some major problems. However, a Japanese University
started working on it, and a mail group was formed to work on developing
it. The group has since died :-(, but you can get jstevie's sources
and binaries for various platforms at

utsun.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp

You might also want to look into Elvis. I, however, found that one of
Stevie's limitations (file can't be bigger than available mem) is also
one of its assets; it is significantly faster than Elvis, especially
on slower machines. No garish colors either...
