I have just tried stevie and like most of it except that I find it extremely slooooow. Is there a vi program that does direct screen writes? I also found jstevie from japan. I like the abbrevialtion ability and the move and copy, and although it is faster than normal stevie, it still seems to use bios or nansi. Also, I may just be dense, but can page up and down keys, as well as up and down arrow commands map to the ^F ^B and hjkl keys? I like vi for its smart pattern matching and replacing, I also like to be able to specify groups of lines to move by line number. Perhaps I actually need a different editor?? I also like to see column positions if possible for when I work with data and have to know the column number for SAS programs. Thanks for any help Patrick Champion
