I'm looking for an editor that can be used with X Windows, where I could remove "chunks" of code from the editing window without actually removing it from the original file. Basically, remove a "chunk" of code from the display, assign a name to that chunk of code, save it to a temp. file., but at the same time keeping the original file intact. Any other changes while editing the file should be saved, but the lines identify as a "chunk" should not be removed from the edited file. Can I do that with XEDIT? any Suggestion on how to do it. I'm just learning X Windows so please consider this before replying. Thanks in advance, Simon Ramirez. ramirez@ihlpy.att.com
