Hello, we've got some trouble with the text editor uniXEDIT from "The Workstation Group", Rosemont, IL 60018. Within uniXEDIT V1.00 notes it's written about uniXEDIT macros: "uni-REXX files in the current directory can be executed from within uni-XEDIT by entering the filename. For example, entering COMBINE as a uni-XEDIT primary command will execute the uni-REXX program COMBINE.xedit from the current directory. Within a uni-XEDIT macro, the destination for commands issued by the uni-REXX program is automatically set to uni-XEDIT." We installed that software product under /usr/local/uni/uniREXX resp. /usr/local/uni/uniXEDIT on our SUNs with the "tar" command. Then we created the following small uniXEDIT macro named test.xedit in our home directory: /* Test */ "TOP" After entering the editor uniXEDIT in the same directory we inserted some lines to the dataset, went to the bottom by entering the "bottom" command and then tried to execute the macro "test.xedit" by entering "test" in the commandline. Nothing happened and no error message appeared. Why? What did we do wrong? We also tested this with some changes like writing "TOP" in small letters, inserting an "exit" command after the "TOP" command, changing the quotation marks from " to ', leaving them away ... Perhaps someone can tell us what we did wrong! We would also like to know if anybody else uses these products. Please give us answer to our mail.
