[net.micro] What is the best/cheapest 2400 baud

ted@cdp.UUCP (11/06/85)

Both the Hayes2400 and the U.S.Robotics Courier 2400 work very well.
Be sure you get a recent model however, as both companies have had
to upgrade built-in firmware. Both will send you upgraded chips
free of charge (I think).

My personal feeling is the U.S.Robotics has a slight edge over the
courier in that they've put a copy of the quick reference card
where its hard to loose -- on the back of the modem itself.

Also the U.S.Robotics has built in help screens. Both, use the
lousy "Hayes standard modem command language". Go for the cheaper,
either should work.
