Last summer I posted a request for a simple editor for composing mail under elm. I found a little editor called GNOME that was ok but still not quite what I had in mind. I have seen others post similar articles and thought maybe something else might be available. I need a full screen editor that supports arrow keys and function keys. Well.. the function keys aren't a requirement but it would be nice if the commands were executed via the function keys. Remember this is for composing relatively short email messages. Pattern matching and fancy search and replace options are not necessary. Basic Requirements: ------------------ Full Screen ... Always in insert mode, nonprinting keys execute commands. Arrow keys move user through the file. Backspace key removes the character to the left of the cursor. Delete key removes the character under the cursor. The ability to Exit and save the file and Quit without making changes. That's it. Other features would be nice but not necessary. I personally use vi because it is on all the systems that I use, but the masses are intimidated by the terse nature of vi. ( I like it ). Thanks for any help you can give. I dont have ftp so I will have to retrieve via anon uucp or mail server.
