I currentls have freemacs 1.6. To make it more like the emacs I'm used to on our Suns, I would like to redefine C-x s to save-buffer, as opposed to keeping it as save-buffer-and-exit (I think this is what it's called). I used 'M-x ef keys.ed' to modify and recompile the key definition file but it doesn't appear to have worked. Did I forget something or what's going on? I would also like to make the set-marker(?) command be executed from a C-SPACE instead of the annoying C-@ which includes that Shift key on my keyboard. This also didn't seen to work when I tried. How can I accomplish this? It also seems that the mouse doesn't seem to work properly with the scrollbar. If the cursor is at the bottom of the buffer (not file) then mouse clicking on the up-arrow only brings the cursor to the top line of the buffer, not any further. It won't take me to the top of the file. When there are 2 buffers on the screen, then clicking on the up-arrow for the top buffer makes the bottom buffer go up???? Is this a bug or a feature? Can the mouse also be used to select text for killing or deleting? Lastly could someone tell me all of the features of the compile command. i.e. next error, previous error,... Or a good source of info for really getting some use outa all of the features of this (freemacs) excellent piece of software! Thanks, Tom ps. Of course this was typed with Freemacs!!
