lwv27@CAS.BITNET (Larry W. Virden ext. 2487) (05/22/91)
We have a program which does something like:
strcpy(string, "+0\n/search/\n:n\n:e #\n");
execlp("/bin/vi", "/bin/vi", string, "/tmp/file1", "/home/lwv27/file2",
(char *) NULL);
When vi comes up, it prints something like:
clear screen
"/tmp/tdfta16392" 5 lines, 160 characters "/home/lwv27/.answer" 17 lines, 429 ch
"/tmp/tdfta16392" 5 lines, 160 characters
[Hit return to continue]
where that long line is REALLY a long line.
What we would REALLY like to see is the clear screen and the first
file - without the info about the files.
Is there a quiet mode that can be invoked some how ?
