I'm planning on interfacing XEDIT with the Unix spell command, marking up a document to point out misspelled words somehow, supporting removal of one or all marks, adding words to a local dictionary, etc. I suppose I can do all this with a few REXX macros. I was wondering how this has been done in the past with other editors like vi or emacs. For example, how do you mark the misspelled word to facilitate the other operations I mentioned above?
