#N:hpcnoa:2100001:000:397 hpcnoa!news Dec 22 08:58:00 1983 There is a new group called net.jokes.o, and it is intended to be a forum for offensive jokes. More specifically: 1) jokes MUST be offensive 2) no flames, comments, or bullshit. Any violation of these rules will result in heavy flaming mail to the jerk who posted the useless note. There will be no discuusion about this new group! If you want it then fine, if not, then that's fine also.

It has got to be one of the most offensive things I've ever seen on the net. But it IS kinda funny... Mark E. Mallett decvax!sii!mem

#R:hpcnoa:2100001:hp-dcd:18900002:000:606 hp-dcd!donn Dec 28 09:48:00 1983 The following was inserted in net.jokes.d, where the same posting on net.jokes.o appeared. /***** hp-dcd:net.jokes.d / hpfcla!ajs / 1:27 pm Dec 27, 1983*/ There is NOT a new group called net.jokes.o. Someone here tried to create it but we managed to pull it back (I hope). If you think there should be a group for offensive jokes (and it hasn't already been discussed a bunch) then carry on an argument in net.news.group... Traffic in net.jokes itself will slow to a pitiful trickle, and eventually it will have to be saved from the automatic-newsgroup-deletion programs by periodic rescue operations. Flames will then commence on the subject of whether there ought to be "landmark" newgroups, exempt from automatic deletion because of their historical value. --- Michael Turner (ucbvax!ucbesvax.turner)
