<> I'm in the market for a PC-AT clone. The cheapest that I've seen so far is made by PC's Limited here in Austin. The configuration that I want, with prices that I was quoted on 15 Nov, is as follows: Basic machine with 30286 processor, 1024K and clock/ $1995 calendar with battery backup on mother board, running at 6MHz (8MHz optional, add $5.00), seven open expansion slots, US-made buses in same configuration as IBM's PC-AT, IBM keyboard, Teac or Mitsubishi 1.2M floppy drive, 192W power supply, 2 serial ports, 1 parallel port. Options (prices include installation by PC's Limited): Seagate ST4038 20M (sub-40ms, auto park/lock) hard disc $ 695 Teac or Mitsubishi 360K floppy drive $ 110 Hercules-compatible graphics board $ 159 30287 coprocessor $ 195 Amdek 310A or Princeton MAX-12 monitor $ 165(A) $ 180(P) ----- Total $3319(A) $3334(P) This package beats the next best price I've seen (a student/staff/ faculty discount on a Zenith Z-200) by over $1000, and is less than half of what I was quoted for an IBM at Computercraft. It all seems to me to be too good to be true. If anyone has any experience with this machine or with PC's Limited, good or bad, I'd appreciate an email note about it. If there is enough response, I'll summarize to the net. Many thanks! Harold G.
