A new faculty member in the Psych department here is having a problem getting MacLab software to run on the Mac SE/30s in her lab. MacLab is a program which uses a Mac instead of a tachistoscope to rapidly present stimuli to subjects and collect their responses and reaction times (Costin, 1987). She has used MacLab before on Mac SEs. She has been told that the reason it won't work is that the program requires that HD Setup 1.3 be used to format the hard disk. The version of HD Setup that came with the SE/30s is a later one. When she tried using HD Setup 1.3 with them it didn't help. Has anyone got MacLab to work with SE/30s? If so, we'd like to hear how you did it. Also, we'd be glad to hear from any knowledegeable Mac users who have ideas about what could be causing our difficulties and how we could solve them, either with MacLab or with another software program to serve the same purpose. Thanks in advance! -- Ellen Brewer (ebrewer@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu) "Non ignara mali, miseris succurrere disco."
