RFC 1124: Title: Policy Issues in Interconnecting Networks Author: B. Leiner Mailbox: Leiner@RIACS.EDU Pages: 48 Characters: 315,692 pathname: RFC:RFC1124.PS To support the activities of the Federal Research Internet Coordinating Committee (FRICC) in creating an interconnected set of networks to serve the research community, two workshops were held to address the technical support of policy issues that arise when interconnecting such networks. Held under the auspices of the Internet Activities Board at the request of the FRICC, and sponsored by NASA through RIACS, the workshops addressed the required and feasible technologies and architectures that could be used to satisfy the desired policies for interconnection. The purpose of this RFC is to report the results of these workshops. Distribution of this memo is unlimited. Requests for special distribution should be addressed to either the author of the RFC in question, or to NIC@NIC.DDN.MIL. Unless specifically noted otherwise on the RFC itself, all RFCs are for unlimited distribution. The NIC also provides an automatic mail service for those sites which cannot use FTP. Address the request to SERVICE@NIC.DDN.MIL and in the subject field of the message indicate the file name, as in "Subject: SEND RFC:RFCnnnn.PS". Submissions for Requests for Comments should be sent to POSTEL@ISI.EDU. Requests to be added to or deleted from this distribution list should be sent to RFC-REQUEST@NIC.DDN.MIL. Joyce K. Reynolds
