I bought one of the ADC modems from DAK. I ordered by phone, paying by credit card, and the modem arrived within 3 weeks. So far, I have no complaints. It seems to be exactly what it claims, a Hayes compatible modem. It actually implements a superset of the Hayes commands, including such things as a built-in clock/calendar and automatic redialling on a busy signal. (It has a switch to turn these extensions off.) I've used the modem with MacTerminal on a Mac and it works fine. The documentation is very complete and readable and the modem worked "out of the box", with no setup. Overall, I would recommend it; it seems to be the cheapest modem on the market (or at least close). I sent a slightly longer review to net.micro; perhaps, if you have access to that article, you might want to substitute it.)
