A friend of mine has an HP7221A 4-pen graphics plotter. He is interested in using it with his IBM PC for Lotus 1-2-3 plots. Has anyone got any ideas as to whether a driver is available? Would be intersted to know if there is a PostScript to HP7221A bridge. (I have been informed that HP7221A actually talks HPGL.) Thank you very much. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Yih Lerh Huang, grouptheory systems incorporated (613) 594 0227 uucp: {pesnta, lsuc, prcrs}!nrcaer!grpthry!ylh {allegra,decvax,duke,floyd,ihnp4,linus}!utzoo!dciem!nrcaer!grpthry!ylh

There is no driver of which I am aware for the H-P 7221A for Lotus 1-2-3. Unfortunately, the 7221A does not speak HPGL like the other H-P plotters, but has a special command language using compacted binary. The otherwise identical 7220 speaks HPGL, and might be usable with the drivers provided by Lotus for the H-P 7470. If anyone has a line on drivers for the 7221A, I'd also be interested in hearing about them. Tony Movshon

I have heard (from HP) that there is a ROM set you can buy that will turn a 7221 plotter into a 7220. It will then accept HPGL. Check with your local HP office. I don't remember the price, but I don't think it was outrageous.
