chip@chinacat.Unicom.COM (Chip Rosenthal) (07/07/90)
Hopefully, by now your site has received my "newgroup" control message for "alt.society.cu-digest". The Computer Underground Digest will be posted to this newsgroup. To get things going, I will repost a couple of the more recent issues to the newsgroup as soon as this message goes out. Important Point - the newsgroup is moderated. You will not be able to post messages directly to the newsgroup. The digest is moderated by Jim Thomas and Gordon Meyer. You may mail submissions directly to them at tk0jut2@niu.bItnet, if your mailer understands such things. Another address which I've found reliable is tk0jut2%niu.bitnet@uicvm.uic.edu if you can't deal with .bitnet but can take complex addresses. However, to make things simpler, I've created an address: cud@chinacat.unicom.com You may mail submissions there and they will be routed to the moderator. I've asked Spaf to update the official mailpaths list with this last address. If your news administrator places one of these addresses into your local "mailpaths" file, then you will be able to use the followup mechanism, and the news software will automatically route your messages by mail. Disclaimer - neither I nor Unicom Systems Development is involved in the production or the contents of the CuD. The views expressed in the digest are solely those of the contributors. Unicom Systems Development merely provides an automatic gateway into USENET for the digest. The gateway is truly automatic, and posting occurs without the review or intervention of myself or any employee of Unicom Systems Development. If there are any issues or problems with the gateway, please contact me. Since I am not involved with the digest, you will need to directly contact the moderators with digest administrivia and issues. You may reach them at the tk0jut2 address, or through a local alias cud-request@chincat.unicom.com. -- Chip Rosenthal | You aren't some icon carved out chip@chinacat.Unicom.COM | of soap, sent down here to clean Unicom Systems Development, 512-482-8260 | up my reputation. -John Hiatt
