I found Jerry's column in INfoword (refreshingly) brief and informative. compared to other stuff in the same issue, in particular, Dvorak's garble, which I usually tend to enjoy. I am glad someone is writing about things in a manner that is both entertaining and educational to "the masses", it reduces the amount of 'basic questions' all you computer "experts" out there have to answer. I believe Jerry does more good than harm with his writings about computers, and as long as he keeps his political views out of his columns in computer magazines and keeps a lid on how often he refers to his science-fiction exploits, he deserves to be considered an asset in the computer press. And I certainly have not heard/read anyone complaining that it is difficult to understand what JEP's "message" is, and if nothing else, I appreciate that in a writer. ---Werner "neither I nor Jerry, I'm sure, expect you to agree with anything we write. But do you *REALLY* only want to read things with which you agree?" PS: Can't say that I agree with Jerry "more often than not", certainly not in anything I discussed with him privately - mostly politics. We used to write each other "hate-mail" ((-: PSPS: Now that a balance has been achieved in postings concerning JEP, can we drop the topic, please? At least on the net ?!! *DO* write to the editor/publisher who WANTS to hear about your reactions.
