It is a hearty winter soup, suitable as a main course, especially when served with fresh bread or biscuits. .IH "Serves 8" .IG "6 cups" "clear chicken broth" "1.5 l" .IG "\(14 cup" "uncooked white rice" "50 g" .IG "\(14 cup" "uncooked wild rice" "35 g" .IG "\(12 cup" "green onions," "25 g" chopped fine .IG "\(12 cup" "butter" "120 g" .IG "\(34 cup" "flour" "75 g" .IG "\(12 tsp" "salt" "2.5 ml" .IG "\(14 tsp" "pepper" "1 ml" .IG "2 cups" "milk" "5 dl" (or a mixture of milk and cream) .IG "1 \(12 cups" "cooked turkey," "400 g" cubed (or use chicken) .IG "8" "bacon slices," cooked crisp and crumbled .IG "3 Tbsp" "dry sherry" "50 ml" (optional) .PH .SK 1 In a large sauce pan combine chicken broth, rice and onions. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 40 minutes. .SK 2 In a medium sauce pan or skillet melt butter.
