[net.micro] Scam prices on NEC V20

campbell%maynard.uucp@BRL.ARPA (12/16/85)

I can't believe anyone is paying even $29.95 for NEC V20 chips,
let alone $40!! I got mine for $11.00 quantity one from Gerber
Electronics, a nearby (Norwood, MA) electronics distributor.
(That's the 5MHz part, the 8MHz part was $16.00 I think.)

Let's see, at $11 quantity 1, it's probably about $5 quantity 1000...
Maybe I should go into business... get an ad in Byte, charge
$40 each, move to Bermuda, buy a Lamborghini...

[By the way, the chip works perfectly, except when running braindamaged
software with timing loops]
