An article in the Atlanta Journal on June 15, 1898, described a
support group specifically for women - mothers, female
relatives and female health-care workers of PWAs - and described
some common experiences women often have in dealing with guilt,
frustration, anger, and solitude of their own. Having no place
to turn, this group was formed in the Atlanta area.

A sidebar to the article listed many resources for people with
AIDS and their parents and relatives. These are activities
located in and around the Atlanta, Georgia area.

 o  Lymphadenopathy-ARC (AIDS-Related Complex). 7pm Monday AID
    Atlanta.

 o  PWAs Tuesday Night Dinner. 6pm, Shrine of the Immaculate
    Conception.

 o  The Worried Well. HIV-positive, HIV-negative. 6pm Tuesdays,
    Call 404/872-0600.

 o  PWAs Evening. 7pm Wednesdays, St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

 o  PWAs in the Family. 7pm Wednesdays. Reservations only, call
    404/872-0600.

 o  Life Healing HIV Support Group. 7:30pm Wednesdays, Atlanta
    Center for Attitudinal Awareness. 404/953-3136.

 o  Volunteer-Staff. 9am first & third Wednesdays of the month,
    AID Atlanta.

 o  PWAs-PWARC Minority Issues. 7pm Thursdays, AID Atlanta.

 o  P.L.U.S. Positive Living Under Stress. HIV-positive,
    HIV-negative. 8pm Fridays and 6pm Sundays, Atlanta Gay Center,
    63 12th Street.
