Brief excerpt from Seale, J. R. "Origin and transmission of AIDS. Multi-use hypodermics and the threat to the Soviet Union: discussion paper." Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine. May 1987; pp.301- 304. "Its [AIDS] ultimate origins appear to be in the practice of modern medicine and modern science themselves; whether by chance in the practice of cut-price modern medicine in poor countries, or by an accident in a laboratory, or by the design of some scientists with warped minds. Whatever the precise origins of the AIDS virus may be, it exists, and it is spreading rapidly in humans in every country in the world by several routes. It is the greatest MAN-MADE catastrophe of all time. There are no simple solutions to the multitude of horrendous problems the virus will cause the human race. However, in the absence of clear thinking, scientific objectivity and honesty, by public health authorities as well as by medical scientists and clinicians, there will be no solution at all." I might add Dr. J. R. Seale, formerly Consultant venereologist at the Middlesex and St. Thomas' Hospitals, London, has published extensively in English and German scientific journals on AIDS. Again, ANYONE care to debate the origin of the AIDS virus?? I'd sure like to have someone be able to prove to me that Seale's hypothesis is incorrect. -- Uucp: ...{gatech,ames,rutgers}!ncar!noao!asuvax!stjhmc!10!475!Robert.Lee Internet: Robert.Lee@f475.n10.z1.fidonet.org

[Referring to a posting of part of a paper in which Dr. J. R. Seale asserts that AIDS is a disease created accidentally or on purpose by people...] You ask us to refute Seale's hypothesis. What, pray tell, is the nature of his hypothesis? All you posted was a statement from a paper in which he asserts that such is the case. In other words, could you say more? --Tom Mandel mandel@well.sf.ca.us mandel@unix.sri.com
