I HAVE A FRIEND WHO IS TAKING AZT WITHOUT COMPLICATIONS. HIS DR WANTS HIM TO BEGIN DDI IN CONJUNCTION WITH AZT. ARE THESE TWO DRUGS DESIGNED TO WORK TOGETHER? I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND INFORMATION ON THE USE OF DDI & AZT TOGETHER.

The National Institutes of Health has a special information number to
answer specific questions about experimental drugs for AIDS. The phone
number is
1-800-TRIALSA
My NIH contact stated that there are currently experimental trials taking
place with DDI and AZT to determine appropriate levels, efficacy, toxicity,
etc. My bet is that TRIALSA will say "We don't know yet", but they can
probably tell you what NIH is seeing so far.
Please post your findings to sci.med.aids, so we will all be enlightened.
