Have any of you talked to the younger set about Aids. I was frightened to discover the number of teens that remain ignorant to the threat Aids can pose to their young lives. Part of that danger is the inability to get testing. Because of their ages it's not readily and affordably available. Once you've convinced a teen that what they've been doing may have harmed them, many of them then have no where to turn. It's not easy to go home and say, "Hey Mom/Dad can I use the BC/BS card and run down to the lab for an HIV test." Go to the family doctor...you mean the one who's known you before you did? Got to be kidding. What advise can you give such youngsters, what kind of help? Should the schools offer some kind of a program? -- Uucp: ...{gatech,ames,rutgers}!ncar!asuvax!stjhmc!267!167!Shirley.Robertson Internet: Shirley.Robertson@f167.n267.z1.fidonet.org
