[sci.med.aids] Radical treatment?

Dear Moderator,
A friend-of-a-friend of mine is a wealthy artist who has decided
to try a "new" method for curing AIDS. He is having all of his blood drained
and replaced. He will then receive bone marrow transplants from him twin
brother.

I personally think his chances are slim; what do you think?

I agree that chances are slim. HIV infects more than just blood.
It also infects the CNS. It is also possible that viri may be
left clinging to the inside of the circulatory system, even after
all the blood is replaced, which viri would then reinfect the new
blood. Good luck.
