[sci.med.aids] Question about long-term AZT use

tomtull@bourbon.Eng.Sun.COM (Tom Tull) (06/07/90)

I have been on AZT for two years and 9 months with my T cell count
staying around 90-100. Recently I have been experiencing muscle
pain...my Dr. recently ran a test: CPK (I think) and his office called
to tell me to stop the AZT and have another test run in two weeks, in
that the results of the test were very elevated. In addition to
AZT I have been on Fansidar for the last year (one a week as a
preventative for PCP and Toxo).

Can anyone tell me about the CPK test - what it means, etc..?

I'd appreciate any information, either through the net or by a
personal e-mail......no need to be anonomous.

Thanks....!
