[sci.med.aids] Am I paranoid, or are they just out

We could cavil for days about what constitutes "paranoia" in regard
to the development and availability of new medicines.

However, before employing the term paranoia, either self-apologetically
or as an epithet for someone else's opinions, we need to keep - I
think - one fact always before us.

THE PURPOSE OF A DRUG MANUFACTURING COMPANY IS TO MAKE MONEY. YOUR LIFE OR
MINE IS OF NO CONSEQUENCE TO THE COMPANY EXCEPT AS IT BEARS ON THAT PURPOSE.

When pharmaceutical companies incorporate as not-for-profit philanthropies,
we can talk in terms of paranoia.
