Jerry.Scott@p0.f10.n147.z1.fidonet.org (Jerry Scott) (10/27/89)

I work in the radio business and would appreciate some advice on how to get
assistance ($$$) for my mental condition.

Severe depression, mood swings, irresponsibilities etc.
Any help appreciated.

I have messaged before about my friend 'Dean'. To recap, he's been
HIV+ for 5.5 years, is asymptomatic, was on AZT but has since stopped its
use, and heretofore has declined to know his T-cell count. Well, he recently
made plans to go to california to receive Compound Q in a gurrilla clinic
(I guess). He had to get all his blood work together and in the process of
doing that he found out that his T-cell count is 8. Apparently he's been
under 100 for quite some time. Still he remains asymptomatic. He has asked
his doctor for ddI and the doctor told him he must have a significant
weight drop before he can go on ddI. Well, seeing as he's 5'9" and weighs
approx. 120lbs (he's always been thin never weighed more than 135 lbs ever)
He's 27 years old and pretty darned healthy, but it is literally impossible
for him to lose a significant amount of weight and exist. All his doctors
keep saying is that they don't know why he isn't dead. He really wants to
try ddI as he doesn't qualify for the Compound Q because of his T-cell count.

Can anyone out there suggest a doctor who is a bit more flexible or a clinic
for us to obtain ddI? Does the buyer's club deal with ddI? I really can't
search the archives for this info, if anyone remembers anything that could
help me help my friend I'd appreciate it. Feel free to message me privately
