[sci.med.aids] "A longterm future with AIDS?"

IPWP400%INDYCMS.BITNET@oac.ucla.edu (MacGyver) (09/21/90)

I know that popular media frequently asks futurists to write speculative
articles on what the future might hold for society, either in general,
or based upon some new discovery.

Does anyone know if any reasonably-written material exists regarding
a long period of time passing before an AIDS cure or ability to hold
it in check occurs (say, twenty-five years or so) ??

I know people tend to quote numbers of x% have been infected, y% will
probably die, etc. but I'm looking for more of an essay format
that doesn't just spew forth numbers (figures can lie and liars can
figure).

Thanx in advance!
