Monday, 21-jan-1991, Pre-action meeting.

        Groups from Atlanta, Buffalo, Boston, Baltimore, Rhode Island,
        London, etc. were present at the general meeting/pre-action meeting,
        along with undercover cops, of course!

Tuesday,  22-jan-1991

        @6:30 pm, zaps were made at three television networks
        (PBS's MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour, NBC News and CBS News.
        NBC wasn't successful in an on-air interruption). 14 arrests
        were made.

        it was an action coordinated by two affinity groups -
        action tours and bloody mary's.  this action set the stage
        for day of desperation.

        @12:00 midnight, costas, an affinity group, tried to hang a banner
        at St. Paul's cemetery but 8 were arrested when police found out they
        are from ACTUP.

Wednesday, 23-jan-1991

        @6:30 am, about 2500 marchers started to gather at Wall Street.

        @7:30 am, march started, there six coffins for bush (pres),
        cuomo (gov), dinkins (mayor), woody myers (health commissioner),
        health and hospitals corp, hra.  each coffins contained
        name with this message - AIDS WON'T WAIT.  SIDA NO ESPERA.

        the march was headed by a banner followed by coffin and then
        followed by the rest of the marchers.  people dropped the coffins while
        the marchers continued to march on.

        it finished at 9:30 am.  three arrests were made when the
        needle exchange tried to drop used needles to woody myers.
        this action will be done on a regular basis from now on by
        the needle exchange committee.  three arrests were made.

After the march,

        the awning leapers hang banners were on fdr and manhattan bridge.

        the housing committee/emmaus house demonstrated at 125th St.
        and shut down the intersection.  25 people arrested.

        alternative + holistic treatment group stormed into the office
        of the executive director of the Health and Hospital Corporation.
        they marched intot the office, juped over the receptionist desk
        and interrupted a meeting.  The director talked to them for about 45
        minutes and agreed to create an alternative & holistic advisory
        committee.

        the grito latinos busted into Bronx borough president and presented
        him with a Certificate of Neglect.  They then zapped the Hispanic
        Aids Forum director, pilling funeral arrangements on her desk.

        the featurettes went around in their stocking and bullhorns and gave
        away condoms and information all over NYC.

        the wow affinity group went to Lord & Taylor and educated the shoppers
        and sales people.

        the bloody mary's  did a lunch time action at Citicorp Center, leaving
        bloody bones and leaflets in their wake.

        the Insurance Committee (the Vitos) paid various insurance companies.
        the renamed the the wall street of insurance - Insurance for PWA Street.
        At the Insurance Association of America, the staff blockaded themselves
        inside their offices and told the Vitos to slip their demands through
        the mail slot.  The Vitos then formed an information picket after they
        have been ejected from the the building.

        @12:30 pm, a bomb threat was made at the workspace and another
        one was called into the police station.

        @4:30 pm, leftlefts and a small funeral march started at grand central.

        @5:00 pm, grand central, 26 affinity groups of @400 people arrived at
        grand central.

        @6:00 pm, marched out at 42nd street towards the UN, since they were
        not being arrested at grand central.

        @8:00 pm, last police van left, traffic resumed on 42nd St. 263
        arrests were made.

        @3:00 am, last person got out of jail, but two people
        were held overnight.

Thursday, 24-jan-1991, @6:30 pm, 2 people held overnight got out of jail.

Monday, 28-jan-1991, @7:30 pm, ACTUP/NY General Meeting.

        About 900 people attended, so far the biggest.
        (750 people attended after the anniversary action at St. Pat's.)

        media's innundated with calls and channel 11 has been calling
        everyday asking if there are new demos.
