In discussion with the other moderators, we decided that it would be best to stop posting messages concerning ACT-UP and other political discussions. Afterall this is sci.med.aids, not politics.aids ... it would be best to move these discussions to a more appropriate newsgroup. I also understand there is an Act-Up mailing list, if someone wishes to mail the address to me, I'll gladly post it to the group. Yes! Let's keep sci.med.aids to medical issues. A talk.politics.aids (or alt.politics.aids?) newsgroup can be created for the political issues. I realize that there are connections - the government research and funding policies that support the medical research - but this is peripheral to the actual medical issues (IMHO).
