[comp.protocols.ibm] UREP 3.3 DUP driver with VAX 11/785 Ultrix

cohn@imspw6.UUCP (Jonathan Cohn) (06/15/88)

Does anybody have experience running UREP 3.3 on any version of the ULTRIX
operating system. Our management refuses to let us install this, unless
we have evidence of it running on at least 2 similiarly configured sites.
(Well maybe refuse is too strong a word.) So at the current time we are
running UREP 2.x and ULTRIX 1.2 with ULTRIX 2.2 and UREP 3.3 sitting in
boxes with management saying that the system can't be updated unless

    a. Someone is running the same configuration

    b. The new software increases thoughput of the current machine, or
eliminates user noticable bugs in mail and file handling.

If you are running ULTRIX and UREP, and can help me to convince managment
that the current updates are essential, (or perhaps even that are only
alternative is to take the Berkeley 4.3 tape off the shelf, please send
me a piece of mail at either this address, jcohn@note.nsf.gov, or at
jcohn@nsf.bitnet. Or if you like talking in person at (202) 357-5936.
