[comp.protocols.ibm] Routing output to a unix printer from VM

GUCSL@SEGUC21.BITNET (Stefan Lundberg) (01/10/89)

Hello,

A customer of ours wants to be able to route printer output from
our VM/XA system to their local BSD Unix workstation to be printed on
that workstations printer. They ask us if that is possible.
Both the VM/XA system and the workstation is connected to the
same ethernet and both speak TCP/IP. On the VM/XA side it's the
IBM TCP/IP FAL product.
Have anyone done this before? Do you have any ideas how to do this?
I have been thinking about setting up a disconnected machine in
VM to which the listings could be spooled to, and that machine
reads it in and starts an FTP session the workstation in question.
But I don't know if this is a very good solution.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
