[comp.protocols.ibm] Booting PC off of UNIX network

swonk@ccicpg.UUCP (Glen Swonk) (05/04/89)

A few of questions about booting PCs off a UNIX network using TFTP.

Is there some example source that exists that implements RFC906?

What is the proper boot sequence a diskless PC workstation must
go through when booting off a network?

Where does on go to get detailed information about a network card (3c501)?
Usually, you only get an installation guide.

What are the pros and cons of the BOOTP protocol opposed to TFTP?

thanks for any help, glenn
